About the Library

Our library facilitates access to right Information and help the students to explore their potential. To promote intellectual growth and creativity by facilitating access to information resources, teaching the effective use of information resources and critical evaluation skills, research assistance and lifelong learning activities. PCAS Library is open and is accessible for students and staff members on all working days between 8.40 AM and 3:40 PM. The digital library section connected with internet hub is provided for access to the users.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

Library is a Place of Individual Study, Library members should maintain an atmosphere of dignity, peace and silence within the Library.
Kindly place your personal belongings in the Locker/Cupboard provided in the library, the library is not responsible for any loss of item.
Identity Card is compulsory for getting access to the library. All library users must enter their names, department and Id number in the attendance register at entry gate.
The library is fully computerized and has the OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) Facility.
Usage of cell phone is prohibited inside the library.
Own Textbooks, printed materials and issued books are not allowed inside the library.
Any kind of marking, underlining, clipping of books is absolutely forbidden.
Readers shall be held responsible for any damage done to the book belonging to the Library and shall be required to replace such book or pay the value thereof.
Faculty may borrow up to 5 books for a period of 1 month, and renewal shall be done at the time of its return.
Students can borrow 2 books for a period of 15 days, and are allowed 1 renewal.
Co-operation of users is solicited to keep the library premises clean.
Eatables, beverages or tobacco in any form are not allowed inside the library.
Students must return their books at the end of the academic year and obtain a NO DUE certificate from the librarian.
The double cost of the book will have to pay if the issued book is lost.
The Library may accept donation of manuscripts, books, periodicals etc. from the donors. Such donations once accepted and will become the absolute property of the college.
Severe disciplinary action will be taken against the users who are found misusing the library services.

Sharing of Resource

The library maintains excellent relations with UGC InfoNet - Digital Library Consortium (N-LIST). So our staff and student community may use ILL services to obtain articles not owned by the central library.

Users Education

Users' education is an important regular activity of the library to inform, alert, educate and train users about various resources and services of the library. In addition to orientation programmes organized for new students, The College Hand Book & Calendar "Library Rules and Regulation" continues to be a popular medium to give detailed information about activities and services of the library.

Library Services: Reference, Consultation & Circulation

Circulation service helps users to make full use of library resources and services. It provides necessary assistance to users in locating information or document of their choice.
