About the Department

Tamil is one of the classical languages in the world. It is very rich with vast literary works. As literature is considered to be a subject which teaches life, the department desires to provide sound knowledge in Tamil language and literature to the students.

The Department of Tamil was started in the year 2014. The Department offers Tamil as a Part-I Language subject for the disciplines of Arts, Sciences & related disciplines. The department has a team of committed professors who are actively engaged in dissemination of knowledge by presenting papers in conferences and publishing articles in reputed journals.

The department is functioning well with Tamil Mandram & Fine Arts Club. Tamil cultural cohesion is being provoked, in the celebration of "Pongal Festival" on our college every year.
